The Confederation of African Football (CAF) acknowledges its role in the situation.
The imprisonment of Senegalese supporters in Morocco since the Africa Cup of Nations final in Rabat is generating significant concern in Dakar. During an official visit to Senegal, CAF President Patrice Motsepe faced questions about the fate of these 18 supporters. He emphasized the organization’s commitment to resolving this sensitive issue.
“The release of the Senegalese supporters is a priority for us. The Senegalese people should know this situation is very important to us. We respect the sovereignty of both Senegal and Morocco. I agree that these individuals were arrested in a stadium, during an event we organized, which makes it our responsibility as well.”
