Paul Scholes was recently asked about his ideal signing for Manchester United, and he chose Declan Rice, a popular option among many fans.

While he could have selected players like William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, or Bukayo Saka, Rice was his standout choice.

At 26, he has excelled this season, improving under Mikel Arteta. He has become a key player, participating in every Premier League minute so far and making significant contributions in crucial moments.

Scholes has expressed his desire to see a player like Rice at Manchester United, and he is not alone in this opinion. Nicky Butt shares the same view.

Rice has proven himself this season as one of the best midfielders globally, receiving praise for his performances from various figures, including Wayne Rooney.

The former West Ham captain could seamlessly fit into any top team right now, and Scholes clearly supports him.

On The Good, The Bad & The Football, Scholes stated: “Yeah, not a dream, but something I think they need is probably a Declan Rice.”

Nicky Butt responded affirmatively, saying, “Yeah, that’s what I was going to say. Declan Rice.”

This season, Rice has impressed in North London and is certainly a candidate for Premier League Player of the Season.

Jamie Carragher picks Granit Xhaka and Declan Rice over Moises Caicedo

In other news, Jamie Carragher has selected both Granit Xhaka and Rice over Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo in his Premier League Team of the Season so far.

Explaining his selections to Sky Sports, the former Liverpool defender said: “So, I’ve gone with Xhaka and Rice in there. I mean, the other one to put in was Caicedo, and that was a really tough one.

“I didn’t want to place all three because I think they’re almost all defensive, but I want to include an attacking midfield player. I’ve got Bruno Fernandes.

“I believe Declan Rice just edges out Caicedo. However, Xhaka has had the most significant impact this season on his team.”
