Pep Guardiola has confirmed that he intends to remain at Manchester City for the foreseeable future, despite recent speculation about his role.
Reports suggest that the club is making plans in case the manager decides to leave at the end of this season.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has been mentioned as a possible candidate to take over, as Guardiola’s contract extends until 2027.
Guardiola expressed his desire to stay in his position for “as long as possible.”
“I’m happy here, I want to stay. Results will always be the deciding factor,” he stated during a press conference ahead of Saturday’s match against West Ham United.
“When the time comes, the club will find the right person to carry on this successful period at Man City.”
“There have been many rumors in recent years, but my wish is to stay. We’ll see what happens at the end of the season.”
“I’m excited because I see areas for improvement. Last season was very challenging, but I remained committed, and this season shows promise.”
“It’s important to listen to my feelings, and right now, I feel good. That’s why I want to continue.”
“Will things change? Maybe, but at this moment, I want to keep working with the players for as long as possible.”
