Orlando Pirates striker Tshegofatso Mabasa has scored 50 goals for the club, placing him eight goals away from Bennedict Vilakazi’s all-time record of 58 goals.
The 29-year-old achieved this milestone during the team’s 2-0 victory over TS Galaxy at Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Tuesday.
“I’m very pleased to see him succeed. I’ve been advocating for years that he deserves regular playtime,” Vilakazi told Soccer Laduma. “If Mabasa had received the same opportunities as other strikers at Pirates, he would have broken my record a long time ago.

“Whenever he plays, he scores or creates chances. That’s why I believe, if you want to win, play him. He will easily surpass my record if given consistent trust in the lineup,” Vilakazi added.
