Orlando Pirates’ young talent Relebohile Mofokeng will stay with the team despite interest from around the world. The South African club has rejected three significant offers worth a total of 87.8 million rand.
As reported by The South African, Al-Ettifaq from Saudi Arabia made an offer of about 26.9 million rand, while MLS team Minnesota United suggested 34.9 million. Russian club Akron from Tolyatti also presented a bid of 26 million. All these offers were promptly turned down.
The club’s choice is based on football goals rather than money. Mofokeng is not eager to leave Orlando right now; he hopes to eventually move to top European leagues like La Liga, the Eredivisie, Ligue 1, or the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, which could lead to a spot in the English Premier League.
Moreover, upcoming events like the Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup could enhance Mofokeng’s visibility, possibly raising his transfer value for a future move abroad.
