Paul Pogba has been officially included in Monaco’s squad for the upcoming match against Rennes. This will be his first game since September 2023. The 32-year-old midfielder had been away from the sport due to a doping case, which initially resulted in a four-year ban. However, the suspension was later reduced to 18 months after an appeal.
Pogba left Juventus at the end of 2024 and signed a two-year contract with Monaco in the summer of 2025. Since then, he has been working to regain full match fitness.
Monaco’s manager, Sébastien Pocognoli, noted that Pogba has not lost his skills, game awareness, or leadership qualities despite his long absence from the field.
Pocognoli is optimistic about Pogba’s return to action. The former Manchester United and Juventus player is seen as a valuable addition who can significantly influence Monaco’s midfield strategy. Many are eagerly waiting to see his performance as he makes his comeback to Ligue 1 after a break of more than two years.
