Another arrest.
Recently, Real Madrid played Oviedo in the second round of La Liga, winning 3–0. Yet, some fans directed racist remarks at Real Madrid players.
Details: According to Marca, police arrested a Real Oviedo supporter for using racist insults against Kylian Mbappé. The individual was caught on video making monkey gestures and sounds during the celebration of Real Madrid’s first goal by Mbappé.
Under Spanish law, the fan could face a fine between €60,000 and €650,000 and may be banned from the stadium. Additionally, this offense might lead to a prison sentence of up to three years.
Furthermore, Spanish police recently apprehended another supporter for racist comments aimed at Vinícius Júnior, who is now facing hate-crime accusations, fines, and a match attendance ban.
Reminder: The president of Real Oviedo mentioned that police have so far not found evidence related to the racist abuse aimed at Vinícius Júnior.
