Ange Postecoglou has revealed he wanted to sign Pedro Neto, Bryan Mbeumo, Antoine Semenyo, and Marc Guehi during his tenure at Tottenham.

In a recent interview on The Overlap podcast, he expressed his disappointment with the club’s management for not being ambitious enough.

After leading the team to a fifth-place finish in his first season, Spurs faced difficulties the following year, ending up in 17th place. This led to Postecoglou’s dismissal, even though he managed to secure the Europa League.

He indicated that the lack of support contributed to the team’s struggles and shared his desired transfer targets for North London.

“We needed to bring in players ready for the Premier League. Finishing fifth didn’t qualify us for the Champions League, so we lacked the funds. We ended up with Dom Solanke, who I was very keen on, along with three young players. I wanted to add Pedro Neto, (Bryan) Mbeumo, (Antoine) Semenyo, and Marc Guehi. To improve from fifth, we needed to follow the example of other top clubs,” he stated.

“The three young players are excellent talents, and I believe they will be valuable for Tottenham, but they won’t be enough to elevate the team from fifth to fourth or third.”
