Ange Postecoglou has relayed a strong message to his critics, asserting that his best managerial work is still yet to come.

The former Tottenham and Nottingham Forest manager shared his views with SEN regarding recent challenges in the Premier League, describing them as necessary experiences in his long career.

Despite being let go twice in 2025, Postecoglou emphasizes that his passion and ambition for success remain unchanged.

His recent performances in England show a stark contrast. At Tottenham, he won the club’s first trophy in 17 years with the Europa League but was later dismissed due to poor league results.

His time at Nottingham Forest was brief, lasting just 39 days with no wins. “You can’t always be at the top,” Postecoglou stated.

“Sometimes you need to face some setbacks. They haven’t affected my approach or identity as a manager.”

Postecoglou isn’t letting setbacks shape his future

Looking back on his 28-year journey, Postecoglou remains humble. He rejected the notion that the harsh circumstances of his departure from Forest or any damage to his reputation would deter him from pursuing high-pressure positions in the future.

“I believe this next challenge will be my best because I’ve learned from recent experiences,” he remarked, adding: “I feel my work still matters at this level. I’m not finished yet!”

At 60, he noted that his age and experience help him own his decisions without impacting his self-esteem.

As Nottingham Forest and Tottenham struggle near the league’s bottom, Postecoglou remains a highly regarded figure elsewhere.

His achievements with Celtic and the Australian national team ensure he is still in demand globally.

Currently, Postecoglou is looking for the right opportunity, understanding the importance of seeking advice before taking on new challenges.

His message is clear: the “Angeball” movement is far from over.
