Premier League Predictions, Chelsea Not In Top Four

The 2024-2025 Premier League has temporarily stopped in week 29 because there is now an international break in March. The competition in the world’s best league is heating up in the position away from the relegation zone, the fight for the European zone, except for the fight for the league title.

Given Liverpool already have a 12-point gap over Arsenal, it would take a miracle for Arsenal to overtake Liverpool. The scenario for the situation to turn around would be for Liverpool to lose half their games, while they have only lost one so far, and Arsenal to win every game – a scenario that has a small chance of happening.

The competition is heating up in the top four or the fight for the Champions League zone. Liverpool, Arsenal, and Nottingham Forest have great potential to finish in the top three and one more ticket in fourth place is still tightly contested by Chelsea, Manchester City, Newcastle United, Brighton & Hove Albion, Fulham, and Aston Villa.

Regarding the competition for this position, football pundit, Ian Wright, also gave his prediction.

Chelsea Fail to Finish in Top Four

Reflecting on Chelsea’s 0-1 defeat against Arsenal, Wright is not convinced Chelsea can finish in the top four. He sees the Blues running out of ideas in attack when key players such as Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson, and Noni Madueke are injured.

Chelsea’s lack of strength up front convinced Wright to predict that Enzo Maresca’s team would not finish in the top four.

“I watched Chelsea against Arsenal and I thought they were absolutely terrible in every aspect. Obviously, they missed Noni Maduke and Nicolas Jackson badly and obviously, Cole Palmer didn’t play,” Wright was quoted as saying by the Mirror.

“They don’t have anyone to strengthen the team or anyone to control the game so you can pass to these players who played so well at the start of the season.”

“They didn’t look like they were going to score yesterday and there’s no way you can be confident as a defender playing in front of Robert Sanchez. There’s no way sitting here now I can see a scenario of how they’re going to do it (make the top four).”

“For me, if I was Newcastle or Bournemouth or Brighton or whoever, I think this is the best chance we’re going to have because I don’t think Chelsea are going to make it,” he explained.
