Premier League clubs have been notified that Mexican teen Gilberto Mora will come with a high price tag this summer.
The midfielder has caught the eye of top European teams following his impressive performances at Tijuana. At only 17, Mora has played nearly 50 matches for Tijuana and holds the record for being the youngest international debutant for Mexico.
This summer, he was part of the Mexico team that secured the Gold Cup, making him the youngest player to win a senior international tournament.
Major clubs, including those in the Premier League, are showing interest, but they have been cautioned that Mora will not be affordable.
The player’s agent, Rafaela Pimienta, asserts that Tijuana can set a high asking price for this promising talent.
“Why should a player in Brazil cost £70 million while one in Mexico costs £7 million?” she questioned. “Is the Brazilian league ten times better than Liga MX? That’s not true.”
