Manchester United is said to be the main candidate to get Ipswich Town striker, Liam Delap, in the upcoming summer Premier League transfer market.
Sky Sports’ report released on Wednesday (14/5/2025) stated that Delap had shown interest in joining Old Trafford, especially after Ipswich Town was confirmed to be relegated to the Championship Division next season.
However, Delap’s move to MU still depends on whether Ruben Amorim’s team can win the Europa League. The title is a requirement for the Red Devils to compete in the Champions League next season.
If they qualify for the Champions League, Manchester United will have a stronger bargaining position than other clubs interested in Delap in the Premier League transfer market. Liam Delap is also reportedly interested in Newcastle United and Chelsea, who are also competing at the top of the Premier League.
Delap, 22, has a release clause of €30 million (£33 million) after Ipswich Town were officially demoted. If the transfer goes through, it would be Ipswich’s first sale since relegation.
Delap’s impressive form with Ipswich this season has attracted interest from a number of big Premier League clubs. He has made 35 appearances in the Premier League, scoring 12 goals and providing two assists , from a total playing time of 2,577 minutes.
The Winchester, England-born player is considered to have great potential to develop further at the highest level of competition. This record makes him one of the most sought-after players in the Premier League transfer next summer.
