PSG Clinch UEFA Super Cup in Dramatic Penalty Shootout After Incredible Comeback

Paris Saint-Germain have won the UEFA Super Cup in breathtaking fashion, staging a remarkable late comeback to draw 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur before winning a dramatic penalty shootout 4-3.

For 85 minutes, it seemed Tottenham’s name was destined to be on the trophy. The Europa League winners were in complete control, establishing a comfortable 2-0 lead through goals from Micky van de Ven in the 39th minute and a header from new captain Cristian Romero just after halftime.

However, the Champions League holders demonstrated their champion’s mentality in the closing stages. Substitute Kang-in Lee gave PSG a lifeline with a goal in the 85th minute, setting up a frantic finale. Then, in the fourth minute of stoppage time, fellow substitute Gonçalo Ramos rose to head in a dramatic equalizer, sending the Parisian fans into a frenzy and the match to a penalty shootout.

In the shootout, Nuno Mendes scored the decisive penalty to seal the victory for PSG. This win marks a spectacular start to the season for the French champions, securing another piece of silverware and showcasing their incredible resilience and never-say-die attitude.
