Played 17 matches. Rangers dismiss their head coach
The management has reached its limit.
In their last Scottish Premiership match, Rangers drew 1–1 with Falkirk, leading to a decision from the club’s leadership.
Details: As announced on the Rangers’ official page, head coach Russell Martin has been let go. Also dismissed are assistant head coach Matt Gill and first-team coach Mike Williamson.
Quote: “Every transition takes time, but the results haven’t met our expectations. Russell and his staff have worked very hard during their time here. We appreciate their efforts and wish them the best,” the statement said.
Martin’s time at Rangers was brief, totaling 17 official matches and 123 days. The team secured just five wins, with six draws and six losses.
Currently, Rangers are in eighth place with a mere eight points after seven games, falling 11 points behind the leaders.
Reminder: After the draw with Falkirk, the Scottish club faced protests outside the stadium, blocking the team bus.
