Rashford scores as Barca end Asia tour with 5-0 win over Daegu

Barcelona concluded their pre-season tour of Asia with a resounding 5-0 victory over Daegu FC at the Daegu Stadium on Monday evening (IST).

Marcus Rashford scored his first goal for Barcelona in this match, while Gavi netted twice and Robert Lewandowski and Toni Fredeez also found the net.

Barça fielded most of their first-team squad in the first half, with Lewandowski leading the attack and being supported by Lamine Yamal, Pedro Fernández and Raphinha.

Gavi scored the first goal in the 21st minute, shooting from outside the penalty area after receiving the ball from Lamine Yamal. The score was 1–0.

Six minutes later, Barça scored their second. Gerard Martín sent a cross from the left into the penalty box, which the unmarked Lewandowski finished calmly. The score was now 2–0.

Just before half-time, Barça scored their third goal. Jules Koundé’s through ball was met by Gavi, who tapped it past the goalkeeper to give his team a 3–0 lead at half-time.

Barcelona made wholesale changes to their squad at half-time, with Rashford leading Hansi Flick’s side in the second half.

Barcelona added another goal shortly after the restart, in the 54^(th) minute. A one-two between Rashford and Dani Olmo ended with Olmo providing the through ball for Toni Fernández to finish. The score became 4-0.

Rashford got on the scoresheet in the 65th minute. After receiving a cutback from Eric Garcia, his shot ended up in the bottom right corner of the goal.

Barcelona created several other chances, but failed to score any more goals. The score remained at 5–0 until the end of the match.

Barcelona will then return to Europe to conclude their pre-season with a match against Como 1907 in the Joan Gamper Trophy. This match will take place on 10 August.
