The World Cup winner and two-time European champion with the Spanish national team is open to returning to Italy. He has met with the management of the Serie A newcomers and agreed on the deal’s terms. Notably, he will turn 40 next week.
Albiol has been a free agent since his contract with Villarreal ended. He joined Villarreal from Napoli in 2019, following a six-year stint with the Partenopei, where he won the Coppa Italia and the Italian Super Cup.
