Real Madrid Drops a Major Transfer Target for Upcoming Market Season

As the upcoming transfer window approaches, Real Madrid is looking to strengthen its defense by acquiring a quality center-back. The club is exploring several options, including Ibrahima Konaté from Liverpool, Dayot Upamecano from Bayern Munich, and William Saliba from Arsenal, although Saliba recently extended his contract and is unlikely to move. Recently, Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace has also been mentioned as a potential target in Spain.

However, according to AS, Real Madrid may not pursue this option further. The club does not want to overspend on the English defender, who, while available on a free transfer, is seeking a significant signing bonus and salary. The Madrid team is not interested in entering into bidding wars, and all indications suggest that Guehi will likely sign with a top English club instead.
