Footem.in – Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe is on the verge of breaking a remarkable record held by Cristiano Ronaldo.
Mbappé has started this season’s La Liga exceptionally well, scoring the winning goal in the opening match against Osasuna, and netting two goals in a dominant victory against the newly promoted Real Oviedo.
Having won the Pichichi award last season, Mbappé appears to be in top form and is keen to maintain his momentum as Real Madrid prepares to face Mallorca early on August 31, 2025.
He has consistently scored three goals in his first two league matches for three consecutive seasons throughout his career.
His best start came in the 2023-2024 season when he scored an impressive seven goals in the first four Ligue 1 matches for PSG.
Chasing a Legendary Record
The French star ended last season’s La Liga campaign with an impressive record of nine goals in the last five matches for Madrid, including a hat-trick against Barcelona and two goals each against Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo.
After scoring in the last two weeks of the current season, Mbappe has now found the back of the net in seven consecutive matches for Real Madrid, closing in on the club record for most consecutive games with goals.
His tally stands as the second-best in the club’s history, alongside legends like Ferenc Puskas.
The all-time record remains with Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored in ten straight matches during the 2014-2015 season, netting 19 goals in that span.
Mbappe is now on the cusp of breaking this remarkable record and has his sights set on achieving it.
Notably, Lionel Messi once scored in 19 consecutive matches for Barcelona, managing to maintain this scoring streak through half of the 2012-2013 season.
