As his condition did not improve, he has been sent back to Madrid for further tests and rest.
The injury is not believed to be serious, and the player is expected to return to the field within one or two weeks. It is anticipated that he will be available for Real Madrid’s matches after the international break.
With Huijsen ruled out, Spain manager Luis de la Fuente has called up Aymeric Laporte as a replacement. While Laporte’s return brings experience and defensive stability to the team, the situation highlights the injury problems facing Spain, which is already without some key players.
