Declan Rice has stated that Arsenal is confident about breaking their trophy drought in the upcoming Carabao Cup final.
Arsenal will face Manchester City at Wembley on Sunday for the first trophy of the season. This final marks the Gunners’ return to a major cup match for the first time since their FA Cup win in 2020, and they are looking to end a six-year wait for silverware.
Mikel Arteta’s squad secured their spot in the Champions League quarter-finals with a victory over Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday, keeping their hopes alive for an unprecedented quadruple.
After that match, Rice told CBS Sports that the team’s focus has already shifted to Sunday’s game.
“It could be the start of something. It’s the first trophy available. Winning it would give us significant momentum moving forward.
“Sunday’s going to be a great match. It really depends on how much you want it. How committed are you to winning this trophy for the team and the supporters?
“The players are buzzing about it. We’re prepared. We believe we can win every game we play, so we’ll be ready.”
