Declan Rice has urged Arsenal to refocus after their Carabao Cup final loss to Manchester City, emphasizing that there’s still ‘a lot to play for’.

Arsenal’s hopes for a quadruple ended with a 2-0 defeat at Wembley, where Nico O’Reilly scored twice for Manchester City. This loss keeps Arsenal waiting for a major trophy.

Despite this setback, Arsenal has been one of the leading teams in Europe this season and currently tops the Premier League standings, with the defeat marking only their fourth loss in 50 matches across all competitions.

However, it has been nearly six years since the club last secured a major trophy, and Rice acknowledged the team’s disappointment following the match.

Reflecting on the game, Rice stated it’s crucial for Arsenal to regroup as there are still significant challenges ahead in the season.

“It’s very, very disappointing,” he said.

“Very tough. It’s a final you didn’t want to lose, but ultimately, we gave them two chances. We need to evaluate our performance; it could have changed if we scored in the first half. There were many positives from the first half. But we keep pushing forward. There are still many positives to look forward to for the end of the season.”

“It’s a final at Wembley, and losing is never easy. I know how much it meant to our supporters today, and you could feel it. But we still have three major competitions to compete in. We need to remain positive, stay united, and continue to push because there is still a lot to fight for.”
