PGA Tour players Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas are likely pleased with Leeds United’s recent performance in the Premier League.
Daniel Farke’s team has improved significantly, moving six points clear of the relegation zone as the halfway mark approaches.
Leeds is unbeaten in their last four games, with wins over Chelsea and Crystal Palace, plus draws against Liverpool and Brentford.
It’s probable that Spieth and Thomas made time to catch some of the action at Elland Road.
Both players are celebrity investors in Leeds United, associated with 49ers Enterprises, the investment group connected to the San Francisco 49ers NFL team.
They joined in 2023, shortly after Leeds was relegated to the Championship. This challenging situation is said to have influenced PGA Tour player Rickie Fowler’s decision to withdraw from investing.
In a conversation with Sky Sports, Spieth explained Fowler’s reasons for not participating.
“We thought it would be a cool opportunity. It’s a big city, a historic club, a great venue at Elland Road, and once we looked into it we realized it could be really exciting,” he mentioned.
