Since returning from the break in October, Benjamin Pavard has raised more questions than answers. Struggling notably against Atalanta this week (0-1), the French international needs to improve his performance to have a chance of rejoining the national team for the upcoming World Cup next summer. During a press conference on Friday, his coach, Roberto De Zerbi, addressed Pavard’s challenging period.
“I can’t explain everything. If we talk about the game, up until Lens, we had some good matches. The incident in Lisbon affected us because Sporting didn’t create many chances. It was somewhat similar at Lens; we need to stay balanced. I think Benjamin Pavard has suffered from this, and he needs to find his calm. The responsibility is mine,” the Italian coach stated ahead of the match between OM and Brest.
