Cristian Romero has criticized the Tottenham board on social media after the club’s 3-2 loss to Bournemouth.
Spurs suffered a last-minute defeat at The Vitality Stadium on Wednesday night, with Antoine Semenyo scoring a stoppage-time winner for Bournemouth. This loss marks Tottenham’s eighth in the league this season, placing them 14th in the standings. This follows last season’s disappointing finish at 17th under former manager Ange Postecoglou.
The appointment of Thomas Frank in the summer has not notably improved the team’s situation, and Romero seems frustrated with the club’s management.
On social media, the Argentine defender spoke out against the board’s silence during the club’s difficult times, stating they only show up “when things are going well, to tell a few lies.” He later removed the phrase “to tell a few lies.”
“Apologies to all fans who follow us everywhere, who are always there and will continue to be,” he posted.
“We are responsible; there’s no doubt about that. I am the first. But we will keep facing this and trying to turn the situation around for ourselves and the club.”
“In times like this, it should be others speaking up, but they don’t—this has been happening for years. They only appear when things are good.”

“We’ll stay here, working together and giving our best to turn things around. Especially now, staying quiet, working harder, and moving forward collectively is part of football.”
“Together, it will be easier.”
