Joshua Zirkzee is aiming for a successful season with Manchester United.

The striker joined the club in 2024 from Bologna and has played 62 matches, scoring nine goals.

This season, however, he has only appeared 13 times, leading to speculation about his future.

Recently, he was linked to AS Roma, and terms were reportedly agreed upon.

However, the move depends on Manchester United finding a replacement, which means Zirkzee may have to stay for now.

In the meantime, he is in good form, having scored against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday.

Following his goal, which put United ahead 1-0, he was substituted at half-time for Jack Fletcher.

Former Manchester United player Gary Neville commented on Sky Sports, suggesting the substitution was likely due to an injury.

United manager Ruben Amorim addressed this after the game, providing reassurance to fans.

On the official United website, Amorim described the decision as “tactical” and confirmed that Zirkzee was not injured.

He added that the team was struggling, and the change helped balance the midfield.

Now that Amorim has clarified the situation, attention turns to the upcoming match against Leeds United to see if Zirkzee will play again.

If he does, it could be another chance for him to shine.
