This season has been challenging for Tyler Fredricson, especially after his strong performance last year.
He quickly moved into the first team but faced difficulties after a tough match against Grimsby. This situation shows how unpredictable football can be.
Recently, Fredricson has not even made it to the bench and hasn’t played for the U21s, completely disappearing from view.
There were rumors that he might have had an injury, though the club did not confirm this. It now appears that this was likely the case.
However, he was seen back in first-team training, featured in videos shared by the club before the match against Bournemouth.
He participated in training drills with regulars like Jack Fletcher and Shea Lacey, who have been consistent in training this season.
Fredricson had been focusing on gym work since late November, but this was his first time back on the field, suggesting he may soon return to play.
The busy fixture schedule might give the 20-year-old a chance to play off the bench soon, as Manchester United has three games in the next ten days.
This season has not gone as Fredricson had hoped. After a strong start to his senior career last year, he has struggled to build on that success this season.
His earlier momentum has diminished, with challenges faced in both first-team and U21 matches adding to his difficulties.
However, the timing of his return is promising, especially with Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt still unavailable and matches piling up.
While it is unlikely he will play against Bournemouth, some minutes with the U21s could prepare him for a spot in the squad for upcoming matches against Villa or Newcastle.
The club will then know if he can contribute to the first team in the latter half of the season or if a loan move for more regular play time is the better option.
Regardless, getting back into training marks an important step forward for one of last season’s standout players.
