Al Hilal midfielder Rúben Neves has been taken aback by rumors in the Portuguese media suggesting he is in a secret relationship with Ruth Cardoso, the widow of his late friend, Diogo Jota.
The Portuguese outlet TV Guia fueled the speculation by publishing an unclear photo that implies a deeper connection between Neves and Cardoso.
Neves expressed his disbelief regarding the rumors, stating, “The person who put this photo on the cover does not deserve happiness.” He emphasized that, as a close friend of Diogo Jota, he has been there to support Cardoso through her loss.
It’s important to note that Neves and Jota played together at Porto, were teammates on the Portugal national team, and shared a close friendship. Following Diogo’s passing, Neves took on the number 21 jersey for the national team, which was previously worn by Jota.
Additionally, Rúben Neves is in a long-term relationship with Débora Lourenço.
