Ruben Neves is set to decline a move back to the Premier League and is expected to sign a new contract with Al-Hilal.
The Portuguese midfielder has been linked with a return to England, particularly with Manchester United reportedly considering an offer for the former Wolves captain.
Al-Hilal was open to selling Neves for around £20m, as his current contract with the Saudi Pro League team expires this summer.
However, Al-Hilal has not lost hope of keeping Neves and recent developments indicate progress. According to Fabrizio Romano, discussions for a new three-year contract for the 28-year-old are in the ‘final stages.’
This news will dampen the hopes of Premier League clubs looking to sign Neves, who played 177 matches in England’s top tier for Wolves before joining the Saudi side in 2023.
