São Paulo will meet with head coach Hernán Crespo to discuss the next steps in finding a center-forward in the transfer market. This conversation comes after negotiations for Marcos Leonardo stalled, leading the club to consider whether to continue looking for new players or to work with their current team members.

Even though the transfer window is closed, São Paulo can still sign players who were free agents as of September 2. No specific names have been announced yet. Injuries have left a gap in the striker position: André Silva is receiving treatment for ligament issues, while Ryan Francisco and Calleri are recovering from ACL surgeries. Gonzalo Tapia or Dinneno could step in as makeshift strikers, but the possibility of bringing in a new player is still on the table.

The club is aware of its financial situation and is looking for a player whose salary fits within current budgets, ideally a free agent or someone on loan. The meeting with Crespo will help decide whether to focus on adapting existing players or exploring market opportunities.

On the sporting front, São Paulo is gearing up for the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals, a major goal for the season. Performing well in this tournament would be a significant achievement for the club, although the immediate focus is on improving performance and advancing. In the Brasileirão, the team has made progress under Crespo, aiming to finish the year among the top six, aligning with both sporting and financial goals.
