Sean Dyche is in the final stages of signing a long-term contract to become the new head coach of Nottingham Forest. An official confirmation on the appointment is expected to be made today. Dyche became the top candidate for the position shortly after the club decided to part ways with Ange Postecoglou, who oversaw a winless streak of eight matches.
Nottingham Forest had considered other managers, including Roberto Mancini and Marco Silva. However, Dyche’s extensive experience in the Premier League made him the standout choice. His record includes nearly seven years at Burnley and a two-year spell with Everton. Dyche also has a personal connection to the club, having come through its youth ranks, and he maintains residential ties to the city.
After a strong seventh-place finish last season, Forest has struggled and currently sits 18th in the Premier League table. The team has managed just one victory this season. The appointment of Dyche, who is known for his practical and disciplined approach, is aimed at stabilizing the team and helping them avoid relegation.
He successfully guided Everton away from relegation in the 2023-24 season. Previously, he led Burnley through one of its most successful eras, maintaining their place in the Premier League for six consecutive seasons.
