Time for change! Sebastien Pocognoli set to take charge at Monaco
The Monégasques are unhappy with their current manager.
Adi Hütter’s time as Monaco’s head coach is nearing its end.
Details: Well-known insider Fabrizio Romano reports that 38-year-old Belgian coach Sebastien Pocognoli is expected to be appointed as Monaco’s new head coach, replacing Adi Hütter.
Pocognoli is presently managing Belgian club Union, a role he took on in 2024. Union is at the top of the Belgian league this season.
Last season, he led Union to win the Belgian Championship title.
Before this, Pocognoli coached Belgium’s U18 national team, as well as the senior and youth teams at Genk, and Union’s U21 squad. His current contract runs until 2026, but Monaco is keen to bring him on board following a disappointing stretch under Hütter, which includes just one win in their last five matches—a close win against Metz in Ligue 1.
Reminder: Monaco may part ways with their head coach.
