The Africa Cup of Nations 2025 is set to kick off in about two weeks. Senegal’s coach, Pape Thiaw, has some uncertainties regarding his squad. Several players who could be part of the final list are dealing with injuries, including Ismaïla Sarr, Habib Diarra, and Assane Diao.
However, reports suggest that there might be positive updates concerning these players. Initially, coach Thiaw was leaning towards excluding Ismaïla Sarr, but it seems he will be available. Internally, the team feels optimistic, believing that the situation may not be as dire as it appeared. Habib Diarra is expected to resume training soon and should be ready for the tournament’s start. Sunderland has requested that the Senegalese staff manage him carefully at the beginning of the competition to avoid any setbacks. Lastly, it appears that Côme is still trying to keep Assane Diao, but ultimately, the decision rests with Senegal.
