The aim is to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

Nampalys Mendy has returned to the Senegalese national team after a year away. He has joined coach Pape Thiaw’s squad.

The Watford Hornets player was a key figure in Cameroon’s success in 2022. Known for his skills and defensive play, Mendy will help enhance Senegal’s chances of qualifying for the 2026 Cup.

It appears the Senegalese coach wants to utilize Mendy’s experience one last time before focusing on younger players. Therefore, he should be given the opportunity to play.
