An interesting story from Ramos.
Playing with Messi is a great experience.
Details: Sergio Ramos, a 39-year-old central defender for Mexico’s Monterrey, shared memories from his time at PSG, specifically his first training session with Argentine star Lionel Messi:
“When I first trained with Messi, he said to me, ‘Sergio, remember, we are on the same team now, don’t hit me.’ I replied, ‘Don’t worry, now I’ll go after anyone who comes near you.’
I had to be tough on him when I was on the opposite side; that was the only way to stop him. But during my first game with him, I thought, ‘This is great, I can finally relax—I have Messi on my side. What used to be difficult is now a part of my team.’” Ramos shared.
Sergio Ramos joined PSG in 2021 as a free agent after a successful period with Real Madrid. At PSG, he played 58 matches, scoring 6 goals and providing 1 assist. He won two Ligue 1 titles and the French Super Cup during his time with the team.
Reminder: Following Monterrey’s victory, Sergio Ramos stated: “This is historic for the club.”
