Serie A Judge Requests Additional Details on Racist Abuse Incident Involving Juventus’ Weston McKennie

An Italian league judge has asked for more information before making a decision on the racist abuse aimed at Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie following a match against Parma.

Juventus stated on social media that the U.S. player faced “discriminatory racist remarks from individuals in the away section” while he was cooling down with teammates after the Serie A match.

Judge Gerardo Mastandrea mentioned that he needs additional details from the prosecutor’s office to identify the individuals responsible for the abuse.

He also indicated that Parma should assist in the identification process.

Parma could face consequences, including possible bans for their fans from away matches or partial stadium closures for home games.

McKennie played as a late substitute in Juventus‘s 2-0 win over Parma.

On Monday, Parma issued a statement condemning all forms of racism and discrimination related to the incident.

Juventus midfielder Andrea Cambiaso received a two-match suspension for striking an opponent during the game, according to the Serie A judge.

Cambiaso will miss upcoming matches against Genoa and Inter Milan due to a red card he received late in the game after a confrontation with a Parma player.
