Mikael Silvestre has praised Manchester United defender Leny Yoro as a potential ‘key player’ for the club over the next decade.
Yoro, who joined Manchester United from Lille in 2024, has played 61 matches in all competitions. The 20-year-old was considered one of Europe’s top defensive talents, with Manchester United securing his signing over Real Madrid.
Recently, Yoro has made a positive impact, starting the last four games since returning to the team under Michael Carrick.
Silvestre, a former player with four Premier League titles at Manchester United, sees a bright future for Yoro and believes he could be a long-term presence in the squad.
“He was immediately noticed by everyone, especially by me as a defender,” Silvestre said.
“His composure sets him apart—he’s an excellent footballer. It’s impressive how quickly he has developed, and I was thrilled when he signed for Manchester United because he adds great value to the team.
“I think he’ll be a key player for the club for many years, possibly even the next decade.”
