Daoula Lupembe states that AS Simba’s inability to secure a win against Kaizer Chiefs at home last Saturday has created challenges for them leading into this weekend’s second leg.
Lupembe’s team is set to face Amakhosi at Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday in the CAF Confederation Cup second leg of their preliminary round.
“Before heading into the rematch that we must win, we emphasized the need to secure a victory at home, but that didn’t happen,” Lupembe told Pan-Africa Football.
“We need to confirm our strength in the away match. It requires us to be 100 percent—physically, technically, and tactically, especially mentally, as the key difference lies in our mindset.”
The coach pointed out that the team from the Democratic Republic of Congo must display mental resilience to succeed against Amakhosi.
“Having the right mentality is crucial,” he remarked.
“We are preparing for a challenging match. It will be an encounter at the top level of African football.”
