Xavi Simons stated that the two goals Spurs gave away against Burnley on Saturday were “not acceptable” as the team struggles with its performance.

Micky van de Ven scored first for Tottenham at Turf Moor, but Axel Tuanzebe equalized in stoppage time.

Lyle Foster put Burnley ahead with 15 minutes to go, but Cristian Romero managed to score late and secure a draw for Spurs.

“Overall, yes [we deserved to win], but we need to secure victories, even against a strong keeper. We must convert our chances.”

He added: “Allowing a goal just before halftime and conceding the second goal is not something we should do.”

Regarding Spurs’ comeback, Simons said: “We know our strength on set pieces and crosses, and our center-backs Micky and Cristian are effective in those situations.

“The key is to keep working hard. That’s what we will do.”
