Six senior Arsenal players have withdrawn from their national teams for the upcoming break.
A number of players from Mikel Arteta’s squad will not participate in international matches as they chose to stay in North London to recover from minor injuries.
Gabriel Maghalaes was the latest to withdraw, as Brazil announced he is dealing with knee discomfort. He joins central defensive partner William Saliba, who is sidelined due to recurring ankle pain, according to the French Football Association.
The pair joins Martin Odegaard and Eberechi Eze, who will also remain at Arsenal during the break. Both players missed the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City and are focused on their recovery instead of joining Norway and England.
Jurrien Timber, who also missed the defeat at Wembley, will not represent the Netherlands, while Leandro Trossard has also opted out of international duty with Belgium.
Arsenal’s next match is against Southampton in the FA Cup quarter-finals on April 4th.
