Several Premier League players are high on the transfer wish list for the Saudi Pro League this summer.

Saudi Arabian clubs are planning significant moves in the transfer market to grow the domestic league. According to talkSPORT, a major transfer strategy is underway post-World Cup.

Among a shortlist of 50 top foreign signings, Mohamed Salah is at the top. Al-Ittihad previously offered £150m for the winger in 2023, but Liverpool rejected the bid. A new attempt could lead to a deal this time.

Salah’s performance this season and his issues with manager Arne Slot could open the door for a move from Anfield if a suitable offer comes in. He is under contract with Liverpool until 2027.

Bruno Fernandes is also a key target for the SPL. Last summer, Saudi clubs were prepared to spend around £100m to sign the Manchester United midfielder, but Fernandes chose to stay at Old Trafford. He later expressed feeling ‘hurt’ by the club’s willingness to discuss his sale.

“I decided not to go [to Saudi Arabia], not only for family reasons, but because I genuinely liked the club,” Fernandes stated, adding, “More than hurting, makes me sad; I’m a player who always gives my best.”

It is uncertain if his view on a move to Saudi Arabia has changed, but it’s believed he would prefer to stay in Europe if he leaves United this summer.

Other targets for the SPL include Casemiro, who will soon be a free agent after announcing he won’t extend his contract with Manchester United. Aston Villa players Amadou Onana and Youri Tielemans, along with Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli, have also been mentioned as potential signings.
