Arne Slot acknowledged the frustration of Liverpool fans after the team’s draw with Tottenham.
Liverpool faced boos at full-time after allowing a last-minute equalizer, which cost them valuable points at Anfield. This marks the eighth occurrence this season where they have conceded late goals, further complicating their chase for a Champions League spot.
Despite Tottenham’s ongoing winless streak of 12 matches in the Premier League, Slot recognized the disappointment felt by Liverpool supporters at the end of the match.
He urged the team to channel this frustration as they prepare to face Galatasaray in the Champions League this week, with Liverpool trailing 1-0 on aggregate against the Turkish side.
“It’s understandable for fans to feel frustrated as this has happened multiple times where the home team doesn’t secure the points expected, and we concede goals late in the game,” he stated at his post-match press conference.
“Now it’s our responsibility to carry that frustration into Wednesday and deliver a strong performance. We all feel frustrated, and it’s up to me and the players to translate that into a display that the fans deserve, as they have supported us throughout the season.”
