Son Heung-min shares memorable moments from his Tottenham career in a new documentary.

After leaving Tottenham Hotspur, Son Heung-min finally had the chance to say a proper farewell to fans last week.

The 33-year-old left the London club in August, ending his ten-year career in England to join MLS’s Los Angeles FC. The South Korean player returned to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during a Champions League match against Slavia Prague for an official goodbye.

Before the game, Son expressed his hopes to the fans, saying he hoped they “don’t forget me” and that “I will be always Spurs and I will be always with you.” A mural honoring Son was also introduced on Tottenham High Road, placing him among the club’s legends.

Son Heung-min reflects on winning the Europa League with Tottenham

Tottenham released a documentary on their official YouTube channel celebrating Son. The film covers his signing, the joy of returning, and winning the Europa League trophy.

Last season, as captain, Son led the team to victory in the UEFA Europa League, marking the club’s first trophy in 17 years. It was his first trophy with the club since his professional debut and represented a highlight of his time at Tottenham.

In the documentary’s opening, Son is visibly emotional as he kisses the trophy featuring the Tottenham badge. Reflecting on that proud moment, he said:

“I felt like there was always something missing, as a perfect piece, you know. As a kid, when you’re looking for the perfect piece, there was one piece always missing.”

He continued:

“It took maybe longer than I expected… but I finally found the last pieces of the puzzle. I think it was right to say it, and I think it was one of the most beautiful moments I ever had.”

Son spent a decade with Spurs after joining from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015. He ranks fifth on Tottenham’s all-time scoring list, with 173 goals in 454 matches. After dedicating his best years to the club, Son finally achieved his dream of winning a trophy.

The joy on Son’s face captured how much he longed for this success with the team. The night in Bilbao last May was a memorable occasion for everyone connected to the club, particularly for Son.
