The response came quickly.
Comments made by Hansi Flick regarding the handling of Lamine Yamal by Spain’s national team coach Luis de la Fuente during the recent international break have attracted attention within the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
Details: Barcelona‘s coach Hansi Flick showed concern about how Spain’s manager Luis de la Fuente managed Lamine Yamal’s participation with the national team. Flick stated that the young forward needed careful management but ended up playing two matches in a row against Bulgaria and Turkey.
The RFEF was taken aback by Flick’s comments and highlighted that they had received no concerns from Barcelona regarding Yamal’s fitness. Furthermore, the player trained normally and played significant minutes in both games.
The RFEF mentioned that one of their physiotherapists, Fernando Galán, also works with FC Barcelona. They insisted that if there had been any issues, Yamal would not have played. The Federation also noted that they keep open communication with clubs, including Barcelona.
For the record: Gavi is currently out due to injury and will miss El Clásico.
