Spanish footballer Rafa Mir is currently involved in a significant criminal investigation.
Details: As reported by Las Provincias, Mir, who plays for Sevilla and is on loan at Elche, faces accusations of sexual assault involving force against a 21-year-old woman. Court documents suggest that the judge believes there is enough evidence for the case to proceed.
The alleged incidents took place after a Valencia match on September 1 last year, when Mir returned home with two women and a friend. It is said that the assaults occurred first by the pool and then in the bathroom.
Mir was taken into custody for several days, after which his passport was confiscated. A restraining order was issued, preventing him from coming within 500 meters of the alleged victim. Bail has been set at €13,500.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 13.
Reminder: Valencia has filed a lawsuit against Netflix regarding a documentary about Vinicius.
