Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has condemned the Islamophobic chants by fans during the friendly match against Egypt (0-0) in Barcelona.

Details: The Prime Minister described the incident as unacceptable and showed full support for the Egyptian players and fans.

“We cannot allow a disrespectful minority to damage the reputation of Spain—an open and tolerant nation,” Sánchez stated on his social media, noting that such acts of hatred have no place in contemporary sports.

The incident occurred on March 31 at the Cornella-El Prat stadium, where a group of radical fans began chanting xenophobic slogans targeting the Muslim faith of the visiting team.
