Spurs are said to be “open” to allowing Brennan Johnson to leave the club in the January transfer window, amid interest from Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.
The winger’s future at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium looks uncertain as the club aims to improve their attack.
Tottenham has scored 25 goals, ranking sixth in the Premier League this season, but only three teams have fewer non-penalty expected goals (15.1 npxG) in the first 16 matches.
Johnson was Spurs’ top scorer last season with 18 goals across all competitions, including the winning goal against Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League final.
This season, the Wales international has scored four goals but has seen limited action under new head coach Thomas Frank. After starting the first three Premier League matches, he has only started three more since then.
According to the BBC, Spurs are “not actively looking to sell” Johnson, but they are “open” to a transfer if the right offer comes in.
Several clubs have been made aware of his potential availability, with both Aston Villa and Crystal Palace expressing interest in the 24-year-old over recent weeks.
Johnson joined Spurs from Nottingham Forest for £47.5 million in 2023.
