The deal fell through.
The decision was made in the last moments.
Details: Insider David Ornstein reports that 25-year-old Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi will not be joining Liverpool, even though all transfer terms had been agreed.
The main issue was that Crystal Palace could not find a replacement for Guehi before the transfer window closed.
Previous reports indicated that Guehi was set to transfer to Liverpool for £35 million on a five-year deal, but the deal fell apart at the last moment.
Guehi was signed by Crystal Palace from Chelsea in the summer of 2021. Last season, he played 44 matches, scored three goals, provided two assists, and won his first trophy with the club—the FA Cup.
Reminder: Here we go! Jaydi Kanvo joins Crystal Palace!
