Mamelodi Sundowns, champions of the Betway Premiership, have learned their opponent in the CAF Champions League.
After reaching the final last season and losing to Pyramids FC, Sundowns advanced directly to the last 32 stage, skipping the last 64 round.
They will face Nigeria’s Remo Stars, who secured their spot by defeating Comoros club Zilimadjou with a 5-0 aggregate score in the last 64.
Sundowns’ first leg will be in Nigeria on October 17, followed by the return leg in Tshwane on October 24. The team that wins will move on to the group stage.
“The trip to Nigeria is obviously difficult,” Cardoso told journalists.
“We need to travel for two days to reach the city where we will play. We can’t make both flights in one day, but we are focused on finding solutions, not problems,” the Portuguese coach added.
