Barcelona goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny has expressed his admiration for his teammate, Joan García.
The 24-year-old Spanish player joined the club in June, transferring from Espanyol. He immediately earned a starting spot on Hansi-Dieter Flick’s team but recently sustained an injury. Now, the 35-year-old Szczęsny is expected to replace the primary goalkeeper.
“I discovered Joan last season when he was with Espanyol. He made a very strong impression on me back then. After observing him for the first three days of training at Barça, I knew I could help him develop. He has the potential to be the best goalkeeper in the world. I’m not saying he is already, but I would be happy if I can help him get closer to that level,” the Polish veteran stated, according to reports in Spanish media.
