Manchester United‘s recent headlines are focused on the sacking of Ruben Amorim, which may open new opportunities for Kobbie Mainoo.

Mainoo, a former England youth player, saw his progress with the United academy under Erik ten Hag, but that was put on hold when Amorim took over.

During Ten Hag’s tenure, Mainoo became a key player for both United and England, earning a Golden Boy nomination and showing promise as the club’s future star.

However, after Amorim’s appointment, Mainoo lost his place in the starting lineup.

The new manager relegated Mainoo to the bench, allowing him only brief appearances this season, which led to his exclusion from the England squad.

Frustrated by his lack of playing time, Mainoo asked for a loan move, but the club denied his request, leading to reports of tensions between him and the former coach.

According to The Sun, sources revealed that there was a heated argument between Amorim and Mainoo at the club’s training ground at the end of last season.

The relationship has reportedly worsened, with Mainoo’s family expressing concern about his situation at Old Trafford.

His brother was spotted at a recent match, wearing a “Free Kobbie Mainoo” shirt, highlighting dissatisfaction with the club’s refusal to allow him a loan spell.

This message seemed to criticize both the club’s decision and Amorim’s treatment of Mainoo, who was seen as competing for minutes with team captain Bruno Fernandes, making it challenging for him to gain playing time.

With Amorim now gone, Mainoo may have a chance to reclaim his place and further his career at his childhood club.
